سُورَةُ القِيَامَةِ
The Resurrection
1
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
I swear by the Day of Resurrection — Saheeh International
2
وَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ
And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. — Saheeh International
3
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ
Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? — Saheeh International
4
بَلَىٰ قَٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥ
Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. — Saheeh International
5
بَلْ يُرِيدُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ
But man desires to continue in sin. — Saheeh International
6
يَسْـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" — Saheeh International
7
فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلْبَصَرُ
So when vision is dazzled — Saheeh International
8
وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُ
And the moon darkens — Saheeh International
9
وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ
And the sun and the moon are joined, — Saheeh International
10
يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ
Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" — Saheeh International
11
كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ
No! There is no refuge. — Saheeh International
12
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّ
To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. — Saheeh International
13
يُنَبَّؤُا۟ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ
Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. — Saheeh International
14
بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌۭ
Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, — Saheeh International
15
وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ
Even if he presents his excuses. — Saheeh International
16
لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ
Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. — Saheeh International
17
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ
Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. — Saheeh International
18
فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ
So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. — Saheeh International
19
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ
Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. — Saheeh International
20
كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ
No! But you love the immediate — Saheeh International
21
وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْءَاخِرَةَ
And leave the Hereafter. — Saheeh International
22
وُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ نَّاضِرَةٌ
[Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, — Saheeh International
23
إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌۭ
Looking at their Lord. — Saheeh International
24
وَوُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌۭ
And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, — Saheeh International
25
تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌۭ
Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. — Saheeh International
26
كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ
No! When the soul has reached the collar bones — Saheeh International
27
وَقِيلَ مَنْ ۜ رَاقٍۢ
And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" — Saheeh International
28
وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ
And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation — Saheeh International
29
وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ
And the leg is wound about the leg, — Saheeh International
30
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمَسَاقُ
To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. — Saheeh International
31
فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ
And the disbeliever had not believed, nor had he prayed. — Saheeh International
32
وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
But [instead], he denied and turned away. — Saheeh International
33
ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ
And then he went to his people, swaggering [in pride]. — Saheeh International
34
أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ
Woe to you, and woe! — Saheeh International
35
ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ
Then woe to you, and woe! — Saheeh International
36
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى
Does man think that he will be left neglected? — Saheeh International
37
أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةًۭ مِّن مَّنِىٍّۢ يُمْنَىٰ
Had he not been a sperm from semen emitted? — Saheeh International
38
ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةًۭ فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
Then he was a clinging clot, and [Allah] created [his form] and proportioned [him] — Saheeh International
39
فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
And made of him two mates, the male and the female. — Saheeh International
40
أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْۦِىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
Is not that [Creator] Able to give life to the dead? — Saheeh International
