1
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلْوَاقِعَةُ
When the Occurrence occurs, — Saheeh International
2
لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ
There is, at its occurrence, no denial. — Saheeh International
3
خَافِضَةٌۭ رَّافِعَةٌ
It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. — Saheeh International
4
إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ رَجًّۭا
When the earth is shaken with convulsion — Saheeh International
5
وَبُسَّتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ بَسًّۭا
And the mountains are broken down, crumbling — Saheeh International
6
فَكَانَتْ هَبَآءًۭ مُّنۢبَثًّۭا
And become dust dispersing. — Saheeh International
7
وَكُنتُمْ أَزْوَٰجًۭا ثَلَٰثَةًۭ
And you become [of] three kinds: — Saheeh International
8
فَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ
Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? — Saheeh International
9
وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ
And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? — Saheeh International
10
وَٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ
And the forerunners, the forerunners - — Saheeh International
11
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ
Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] — Saheeh International
12
فِى جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
In the Gardens of Pleasure, — Saheeh International
13
ثُلَّةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
A [large] company of the former peoples — Saheeh International
14
وَقَلِيلٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ
And a few of the later peoples, — Saheeh International
15
عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍۢ مَّوْضُونَةٍۢ
On thrones woven [with ornament], — Saheeh International
16
مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَٰبِلِينَ
Reclining on them, facing each other. — Saheeh International
17
يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌۭ مُّخَلَّدُونَ
There will circulate among them young boys made eternal — Saheeh International
18
بِأَكْوَابٍۢ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍۢ مِّن مَّعِينٍۢ
With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - — Saheeh International
19
لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ
No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - — Saheeh International
20
وَفَٰكِهَةٍۢ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ
And fruit of what they select — Saheeh International
21
وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍۢ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. — Saheeh International
22
وَحُورٌ عِينٌۭ
And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, — Saheeh International
23
كَأَمْثَٰلِ ٱللُّؤْلُؤِ ٱلْمَكْنُونِ
The likenesses of pearls well-protected, — Saheeh International
24
جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
As reward for what they used to do. — Saheeh International
25
لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًۭا وَلَا تَأْثِيمًا
They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - — Saheeh International
26
إِلَّا قِيلًۭا سَلَٰمًۭا سَلَٰمًۭا
Only a saying: "Peace, peace." — Saheeh International
27
وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِ
The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? — Saheeh International
28
فِى سِدْرٍۢ مَّخْضُودٍۢ
[They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed — Saheeh International
29
وَطَلْحٍۢ مَّنضُودٍۢ
And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] — Saheeh International
30
وَظِلٍّۢ مَّمْدُودٍۢ
And shade extended — Saheeh International
31
وَمَآءٍۢ مَّسْكُوبٍۢ
And water poured out — Saheeh International
32
وَفَٰكِهَةٍۢ كَثِيرَةٍۢ
And fruit, abundant [and varied], — Saheeh International
33
لَّا مَقْطُوعَةٍۢ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٍۢ
Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, — Saheeh International
34
وَفُرُشٍۢ مَّرْفُوعَةٍ
And [upon] beds raised high. — Saheeh International
35
إِنَّآ أَنشَأْنَٰهُنَّ إِنشَآءًۭ
Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation — Saheeh International
36
فَجَعَلْنَٰهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا
And made them virgins, — Saheeh International
37
عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًۭا
Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, — Saheeh International
38
لِّأَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ
For the companions of the right [who are] — Saheeh International
39
ثُلَّةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
A company of the former peoples — Saheeh International
40
وَثُلَّةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ
And a company of the later peoples. — Saheeh International
41
وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ
And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? — Saheeh International
42
فِى سَمُومٍۢ وَحَمِيمٍۢ
[They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water — Saheeh International
43
وَظِلٍّۢ مِّن يَحْمُومٍۢ
And a shade of black smoke, — Saheeh International
44
لَّا بَارِدٍۢ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ
Neither cool nor beneficial. — Saheeh International
45
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ
Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence, — Saheeh International
46
وَكَانُوا۟ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلْحِنثِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
And they used to persist in the great violation, — Saheeh International
47
وَكَانُوا۟ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًۭا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? — Saheeh International
48
أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
And our forefathers [as well]?" — Saheeh International
49
قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلْءَاخِرِينَ
Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, the former and the later peoples — Saheeh International
50
لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَٰتِ يَوْمٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ
Are to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Day." — Saheeh International
51
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبُونَ
Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers, — Saheeh International
52
لَءَاكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٍۢ مِّن زَقُّومٍۢ
Will be eating from trees of zaqqum — Saheeh International
53
فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ
And filling with it your bellies — Saheeh International
54
فَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
And drinking on top of it from scalding water — Saheeh International
55
فَشَٰرِبُونَ شُرْبَ ٱلْهِيمِ
And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels. — Saheeh International
56
هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ
That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense. — Saheeh International
57
نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ
We have created you, so why do you not believe? — Saheeh International
58
أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَ
Have you seen that which you emit? — Saheeh International
59
ءَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْخَٰلِقُونَ
Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator? — Saheeh International
60
نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ
We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone — Saheeh International
61
عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَٰلَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِى مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know. — Saheeh International
62
وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember? — Saheeh International
63
أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ
And have you seen that [seed] which you sow? — Saheeh International
64
ءَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلزَّٰرِعُونَ
Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower? — Saheeh International
65
لَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَٰهُ حُطَٰمًۭا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ
If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder, — Saheeh International
66
إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ
[Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt; — Saheeh International
67
بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ
Rather, we have been deprived." — Saheeh International
68
أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلْمَآءَ ٱلَّذِى تَشْرَبُونَ
And have you seen the water that you drink? — Saheeh International
69
ءَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنزِلُونَ
Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down? — Saheeh International
70
لَوْ نَشَآءُ جَعَلْنَٰهُ أُجَاجًۭا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ
If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful? — Saheeh International
71
أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِى تُورُونَ
And have you seen the fire that you ignite? — Saheeh International
72
ءَأَنتُمْ أَنشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنشِـُٔونَ
Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer? — Saheeh International
73
نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَٰهَا تَذْكِرَةًۭ وَمَتَٰعًۭا لِّلْمُقْوِينَ
We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers, — Saheeh International
74
فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great. — Saheeh International
75
۞ فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ
Then I swear by the setting of the stars, — Saheeh International
76
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمٌۭ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ
And indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great. — Saheeh International
77
إِنَّهُۥ لَقُرْءَانٌۭ كَرِيمٌۭ
Indeed, it is a noble Qur'an — Saheeh International
78
فِى كِتَٰبٍۢ مَّكْنُونٍۢ
In a Register well-protected; — Saheeh International
79
لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْمُطَهَّرُونَ
None touch it except the purified. — Saheeh International
80
تَنزِيلٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. — Saheeh International
81
أَفَبِهَٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ
Then is it to this statement that you are indifferent — Saheeh International
82
وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ
And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]? — Saheeh International
83
فَلَوْلَآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلْحُلْقُومَ
Then why, when the soul at death reaches the throat — Saheeh International
84
وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٍۢ تَنظُرُونَ
And you are at that time looking on - — Saheeh International
85
وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنكُمْ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبْصِرُونَ
And Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not see - — Saheeh International
86
فَلَوْلَآ إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ
Then why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed, — Saheeh International
87
تَرْجِعُونَهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
Bring it back, if you should be truthful? — Saheeh International
88
فَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
And if the deceased was of those brought near to Allah, — Saheeh International
89
فَرَوْحٌۭ وَرَيْحَانٌۭ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٍۢ
Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure. — Saheeh International
90
وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ
And if he was of the companions of the right, — Saheeh International
91
فَسَلَٰمٌۭ لَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ
Then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right." — Saheeh International
92
وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray, — Saheeh International
93
فَنُزُلٌۭ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍۢ
Then [for him is] accommodation of scalding water — Saheeh International
94
وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ
And burning in Hellfire — Saheeh International
95
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلْيَقِينِ
Indeed, this is the true certainty, — Saheeh International
96
فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great. — Saheeh International
